The Lexington Public Library is a valuable asset to our community. Its resources and services are at no charge to every citizen. Often local funding for the library is inadequate to provide for the resources that support and enrich the quality of life in Lexington. Our active Friends of the Lexington Library organization helps by providing financial assistance and volunteerism that strengthen the quality and services of our library.

​Friends of the Lexington Library encourages reading in the Annual Used Book Sale, the Let’s Talk About It reading group discussion program, the Lexington Library Building Fund, and the Annual Meeting, which brings local and nationally recognized authors to Lexington for discussions and book signings. Friends of the Lexington Library fosters a community of readers, and gathers together people with a common interest in books.
